King Charles has always been incredibly health conscious and favours dishes of simple, organic and in-season produce over those comprised of meat and heavy sauces.

While the monarch is a stickler for nutrition, he has made even more adjustments to his diet in recent months as he continues his cancer treatment.The revelations were provided by Queen Camilla's son, Tom Parker Bowles, when he revealed that the King has not only added avocados to his diet but also eliminated red meat.

He told Saga: "I'm no nutritionist, but I know that food is part of a body's 'medicine'. It knows when it's having the right stuff." Tom's comments prompted former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond to say the King is doing all he can to hasten his recovery and "beat" cancer.

Speaking exclusively to OK!, Jennie said: "I don’t think it will be much of a sacrifice for Charles to cut out red meat. He has always been very conscious about his diet – very rarely eating lunch.
