Amid his own cancer diagnosis earlier this year, the King made the heartfelt decision to record his Christmas Day speech from a former hospital chapel.Taking place at the former Chapel of the Middlesex Hospital, it is now known as Fitzrovia Chapel in central London and is used as an event space for exhibitions, weddings, and films, as well as a place of "meaning, memory and sanctuary", and this year, the King's speech.

Ahead of his speech, a video was shared on Instagram sharing a behind-the-scenes look at the recorded message in the making.The caption read: "Lights.

Camera. Action! The annual Christmas Day tradition - the Sovereign’s Christmas Broadcast - is almost here. Where will you be watching?" In the brief look, a spectacular Christmas tree is decorated before a director announces: "Can we just have complete silence on the floor, please." The next shot moves to the King who is adjusting his tie ahead of the recording.
