Michael Muldoon was concealing a knife in his trousers when he saw his victim in the narrow doorway of a shop on Stockport Road in Levenshulme on March 11, 2022.
The 44-year old threw his elbow towards the victim, who then took a grip of him by the collar of his jacket - pushing him towards the shop door.
Muldoon then left the shop but stopped outside, laying in wait for his victim to emerge. When he did, Muldoon 'lunged' at his neck with a knife. But Muldoon then stabbed him again closer to his head. As the victim continued to drive Muldoon backwards, he tripped over, with the victim landing on top of him.
