A young man who murdered a taxi driver issued a violent threat as he was dragged out of court after being sentenced to life in jail.

Oliver Pugh, 20, was told he will serve at least 27 years behind bars for the unprovoked stabbing of Mohammed Istakhar in Solihull, West Midlands, last November. The killer appeared stunned at the length of his sentence, shaking his head and muttering "27 years" as he was led out of the dock at Birmingham Crown Court this morning.

At this point, someone in the public gallery shouted: "You're a murderer, you little [expletive]."Pugh mumbled a threat in reply, saying: "I'll punch you".

Moments before, the court had been told that the murderer "regretted" killing 44-year-old dad, Mr Istakhar, BirminghamLive reports.
