A gang used the home of a drug user mother to torture and imprison the man after kidnapping him on a street outside his home.
He was bundled into a car and taken to the property where he was bound, gagged and tortured for hours, the MEN reports. The victim was also warned that he would be 'gravely injured, if not killed' if he didn't hand over a large amount of cash.He was eventually able to escape the home after suffering serious injuries including burns as a result of the terrifying incident.Members of the gang are due to be sentenced at a later date.Jennifer Baker, 35, whose home was used but did not take part in the violence, was locked up for 18 months for assisting an offender.
A judge had been considering sparing her from prison, but in an unusual move, the 35-year-old, asked to be sent to jail. Manchester Crown Court said that she would 'fail' any drug rehabilitation programmes and instead hopes to get clean while in prison.
