Kevin van Veen has received a clear response after claiming Rangers still want to sign him...but it might not be what the confident Dutchman wants to hear.
Former Motherwell striker Van Veen has had an up and down time of it since switching the Scottish Premiership for the Dutch second tier and recently raised eyebrows when he claimed he 'rejected' Rangers in the summer, but that they still want to sign him - along with every other team in Scotland.
Philippe Clement has already added Fabio Silva to his ranks so it remains to be seen if he does want another out and out number nine, and 32-year-old Van Veen - who has five goals in 15 appearances for Groningen - saw his quotes taken as something of a come and get me plea.
Veteran Dutch journalist Piet van Dijken though says he's spoken with former Rangers star Arthur Numan as well as Dutch pundit and insider Wouter Gudde over the matter.
