Kevin Sinfield hopes he has played a part in finding a cure for motor neurone disease after completing seven sub four-hour marathons in seven days and raising over £1.1million The Leeds Rhinos legend took on the challenge for his former team-mate Rob Burrow, who was diagnosed with the devastating condition last December.
Sinfield ran the first four days on routes close to his Saddleworth home, moved to Leeds for two days where supporters included Burrow and his family, before finishing back at the start in a final time of 3 hours and 41 minutes this morning.
Sinfield’s initial target was to raise £77,777 to mark Burrow’s iconic Rhinos shirt number. That figure was passed on day one, and today, as he neared the second half of the final leg,
