Kermode and Mayo film show leaving BBC Radio 5 Live after more than 20 years

BBC 5 Live listeners have been left gutted after Simon Mayo announced that his long running Film Review show, hosted with Mark Kermode, will end next month.

First airing in 2001, the show is broadcast on Friday afternoons and features reviews of new releases, as well as interviews with special guests.

The last episode will take place on April 1, Simon revealed. He added that the decision to end the show was their own. We - and no one else - have decided to step away…to withdraw…to spread our wings…to exit, pursued by a bear.” The news was met with disappointment and well wishes from fans.
