Celtic may be plundering the Japanese market to bring first team-ready quality to Parkhead but that doesn’t mean they’ve stopped looking a lot closer to home.
Just across the Irish Sea, in fact, where the form of Sligo Rovers’ teenage striker Johnny Kenny has caught the eye of the Hoops’ scouting network to such an extent that Ange Postecoglou ’s side might be about to snatch him from the under the nose of Hibs new boss Shaun Maloney.
Kenny, 18, has a 150,000 Euro release clause, and has already been given a guided tour of Hibs’ training complex near Tranent and watched the Easter Road outfit beat Dundee before Maloney’s arrival at the club.
