It's that time of year when Love Actually becomes the go-to Christmas film for many, but not for its star Keira Knightley. Despite playing the beloved Juliet in the 2003 hit, Keira has confessed to only watching the film once.
Chatting on ITV's Lorraine, the actress, who was just 17 years old during filming, expressed her awe at the movie's enduring popularity: "It's amazing how Love Actually just sort of grew and grew and grew and it really has taken on a life of its own.
It's so much a part of people's Christmas traditions which is absolutely amazing," she marvelled. Yet, she dropped a bombshell by admitting, "I've only seen it once - which is nothing to do with it [the movie itself]," revealing that this is a common trend for her with all her films. "I've only ever watched anything I've done once so it's amazing that it has this whole life which is outside me, how nice." The film is packed with iconic scenes, including the one where Mark (Andrew Lincoln) confesses his love to Juliet using placards – a scene Keira later playfully critiqued as "quite stalkerish," in an LA Times interview.
She also reminisced about the restrictions on set due to her age at the time, allowing her only limited hours of filming, but it's clear the experience left a lasting impression, reports the Mirror.
