The event is organized annually by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and was previously marred with controversies.The show was brought back in 2023 after NBC canceled the 2022 telecast when the HFPA had failed to achieve “meaningful reform” to its questionable practices, including a lack of diverse voting body, according to the network.The HFPA has since added over 100 new voters to its roster, which now represents 62 different countries.
At this year’s ceremony, Viola Davis will be honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award.
