to support Johnny Depp in his libel trial against ex-wife Amber Heard, saying she had to “say [the] truth” about the actor. Moss, 48, testified to the Virginia courtroom in May via video link from Gloucestershire, refuting one of the accusations against Depp, who she was in a relationship with from 1994 to 1998.
Speaking to Lauren Laverne on the BBC’s Desert Island Discs, she said: “I know the truth about Johnny. I know he never kicked me down the stairs.
I had to say that truth. ”In the two-minute long evidence, she told the jury that allegations surfaced by Ms Heard that Mr Depp had pushed her down the stairs at the GoldenEye resort in Jamaica were false, and he had in fact tried to help her. “We were leaving the room and Johnny left the room before I did and there had been a rainstorm,” she told the court. “As I left the room I slid down the stairs and I hurt my back and I screamed because I didn’t know what had happened to me. “[Mr Depp] came running back to help me and carried me to my room and got me medical attention. ”During the BBC interview, she also defended the Spanish fashion designer John Galliano, who was given a €6,000 (£5,000) suspended fine in 2011 for racial abuse after launching into offensive diatribes in a Paris bar.
Moss said: “I believe in the truth and I believe in fairness and justice. “I know that John Galliano is not a bad person - he had an alcohol problem and people turn. “People aren’t themselves when they drink and they say things that they would never say if they were sober. ”During the interview, Moss also spoke about difficult times she had had during her career when she was pushed to pose semi-clothed. “I had a horrible experience for a bra catalogue.
