The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, is in contention for a prestigious award that Meghan Markle previously missed out on.
It was announced today that Kate has been nominated alongside nine other candidates for TIME magazine's 2024 Person of the Year.For nearly a century, the publication has recognised the individual or group who they believe has made the most significant impact globally over the past year.
TIME highlighted that Kate's inclusion on the list follows her making "made international headlines this year and stirred a conversation about privacy and health for public figures."This nomination comes after Meghan, Kate's sister-in-law, was also nominated for the award in 2018, the same year she married Prince Harry.
However, Meghan did not win the award, which was instead given to persecuted journalists referred to as "the guardians". The past year has been tumultuous for Kate, who underwent abdominal surgery in January and faced unfounded conspiracy theories when she withdrew from public view.
