Kate Garraway has told Good Morning Britain's viewers of a moment that 'took her breath away' amid her grief as she continues to process the death of her husband, Derek Draper.

The presenter returned to work on the ITV news programme on Thursday (February 8). Alongside Ben Shephard, Kate kicked off the show by thanking viewers for the “incredible” love and support she has received.

She said it was lovely, but “odd” to be back at the desk before adding: "The make-up girls had me in tears this morning just by saying hello...

Thank you to all of you at home as well, I know I mentioned it on Monday but you have been incredible." During her return to GMB, her co-host thanked viewers for their "lovely messages" of support for Kate, 56, and read out one which said: "Lovely to see you back, Kate, with Ben.
