Former political aide Derek had the worst coronavirus infection of any surviving patient, and nearly died six times at the height of his fight with the virus, The Mirror reports.
The 53-year-old has been kept in a semi-conscious state and despite no longer being positive for the virus - he remains in hospital for the time being as the aftermath of the virus has taken toll on his body. “We’re really hoping we’re on some kind of trajectory of improvement," Kate told Good Housekeeping magazine.
