Good Morning Britain's beloved Kate Garraway has had to step away from the ITV show due to a family health crisis.The 57 year old presenter is keeping a vigil at her father Gordon's side after he suffered what is feared to be a stroke and heart attack last Tuesday (16 July).
The dedicated host made a swift exit from ITV just moments after last week's show wrapped up, upon receiving the distressing news of her father's condition.
With Susanna Reid enjoying her summer break, Kate had been adjusting her schedule to fill in, but the crisis meant that Ranvir Singh graciously filled in for Kate's regular Thursday hosting duties.
Fans were reassured by the show's X feed that Richard Madeley would join Ranvir, with a tweet stating: "Today. Join Ranvir and Richard from 6 am on ITV1." A source confided to The Sun about the harrowing ordeal, saying: "Very sadly, Kate's father collapsed earlier this week while staying, along with her mum and her brother in Cornwall.
