Good Morning Britain was ground to a halt on Thursday, when Kate Middleton stopped her news report make a breaking news announcement.

Thursday's presenters Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid were mid way through discussing the recent news that Prime Minister Rishi Sunak had announced a General Election on July 4 when Kate stopped by with urgent news.The presenter stopped her news report to provide the latest update on the Post Office scandal inquiry.

Earlier this week, Post Office boss Paula Vennells broke down in tears as to she apologised for telling MPs that the Post Office was successful in every court case against subpostmasters.

In what has been described as the "most widespread" injustice in British legal history, over 700 people were wrongly prosecuted for stealing from their branches between 1999 and 2015 when faulty software incorrectly claimed that money was missing from their accounts.
