Kate Forbes has opened the door for another SNP leadership challenge, saying it is "high time we had a Highlander at the helm”.
The MSP said "never say never" when asked if she would run for the SNP's top job again.Forbes lost the SNP leadership contest earlier this year to Humza Yousaf.
She also rejected a job in his cabinet. She had previously said that she was "highly, highly unlikely" to run again, adding that she had “not just dodged a bullet, but perhaps something even more explosive than that”.But the Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch MSP hinted at a potential tilt in an interview with the Irish Times.
She told the paper: “It's been pretty tough. Fair play to Humza Yousaf. I think it would have been difficult for anybody.“It's difficult to set out your vision when you're trying to manage these extraordinarily challenging situations, which you're not in control of.
