Karol G has issued a heartfelt apology to fans after using a picture of a dog to speak about the Black Lives Matter movement.

The singer, 29, tweeted the picture of a black and white dog, saying it was a ‘perfect example that black and white together look beautiful’.

However her followers took issue with the picture, deeming it somewhat insensitive. In response Karol, from Columbia, tweeted a bilingual, longer message to her fans saying her ‘intentions were right’.

She added: ‘I was wrong and I apologise. I want to make clear that my intentions were right in the photo I posted earlier. ‘I meant to say that racism is terrible and that I cannot begin to understand it.
