For example, when I made this recently I added in some olives.It freezes very well, which is great as it makes two loaves. Also, if you have any left, it is delicious toasted with butter or made into sandwiches.I quite often make it as part of a BBQ dinner.
It makes two 1lb loaf tins.Ingredients■ 1tbsp sugar■ 2 eggs (one to glaze)■ 2tsp salt■ 1tsp black pepper■ 100g melted butter■ 2 cups milk■ ½ tsp baking soda mixedwith 2 tbsp hot milk■ 1 red pepper finely diced■ 1tbsp minced jalapenos■ 4 cups self-raising.
