EXCLUSIVE: Jee Young Han (Perry Mason) has been tapped for a major role in K-Pops!, the dramatic comedy marking the directorial debut of eight-time Grammy winner Anderson .Paak, in which he also stars opposite son Soul Rasheed.
Han plays the role of Yeji, the love interest of .Paak’s character, Brandon. Others in the ensemble of the pic, which we were first to report on, include Yvette Nicole Brown, Jonnie “Dumbfoundead” Park (who developed the project with .Paak), and Kevin Woo.
Hailing from Stampede Ventures, K-Pops! recently brought Live Nation Productions aboard as a strategic partner. The film centers on a washed-up musician from Los Angeles who attempts to reinvigorate his career by joining the band for a K-Pop competition show in Seoul and discovers that his long-lost son has the chance to front one of the country’s hottest new groups.
He jumps at the opportunity to capitalize on his son’s stardom for his own renaissance but ultimately learns that fatherhood is much more fulfilling and meaningful.
