Justin Timberlake Recalls Convincing Beyoncé to Do 'Single Ladies' Sketch on 'Saturday Night Live'

Justin Timberlake is looking back at one of the most memorable sketches in Saturday Night Live history!

While appearing in the new Peacock documentary Ladies & Gentleman… 50 Years of SNL Music, the 44-year-old musician recalled having a hard time trying to convince Beyoncé to do that hilarious “Single Lades” sketch back in 2008. Keep reading to find out more…If you forgot, Justin, Andy Samberg, and Bobby Moynihan all wore black leotards as they appeared as the 43-year-old “Break My Soul” entertainer’s back-up dancers in a parody of her “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” music video. Paul Rudd also appeared in the sketch as the music video’s director. “[Samberg] said Bobby Moynihan has this great idea for a sketch about you, me and him being Beyoncé’s background dancers that never made the cut,” Justin recalled. “I was like ‘full leotard’?

And he’s like, ‘yeah.’ I was like, ‘This is too funny. We have to do this.’” Justin went on to say that he had his work cut out for him when it came to convincing Beyoncé to do the sketch. “She was very polite about it, but she was very hesitant.

And when I say hesitant, I mean like, she was not having it,” Justin said. “I’m like: Does she know how funny this is gonna be?
