Saturday Night Live writer Harper Steele has recalled how Jay-Z once swapped a prop joint for a real one during a sketch with Will Ferrell.In the sketch, in December 2000, the rapper, Memphis Bleek, and Beanie Siegel accompany Ferrell as his lounge singer character Robert Goulet for the rollout of his “rap-and-roll” album ‘Murder In the Make-Believe Ballroom’.In the dress rehearsal, which took place hours before it went live, Steele revealed the rapper’s request.“I get there between dress and air, and Jay-Z goes, ‘Can we get a real joint?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, you’re Jay-Z.
