Just Stop Oil protestors stormed the set of Channel 4 show The Last Leg tonight. The chat show hosted by comics Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker was being broadcast live when the protesters appeared on screen just seconds into the programme, handing the hosts orange hi-vis vets.

Lead presenter Hills cheered as they made their entrance and said: "This is not part of the show." One of the stage invaders introduced himself as William and Hills gave him a hug before security intervened and removed them.

The presenters took it in their stride and saw the funny side with Brooker pretending to carry Widdicombe off stage and Widdicombe saying: "I'm not going to lie to you I s**t myself. Adding: "I thought there were three people not laughing." It was the protest group's second high-profile demo of the evening having earlier disrupted the First Night of the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall.

They said the action targeted the event because of the BBC’s “underwhelming coverage of the climate emergency”. In a series of tweets, the group posted videos showing the pair walking on stage and revealing their Just Stop Oil slogan t-shirts to loud boos from the crowd before they were restrained and led away by security.
