Jurors in the trial of Thomas Cashman have been told they will bear a 'heavy responsibility' when they are sent to deliberate on the murder charge tomorrow.

Closing arguments were delivered today at Manchester Crown Court, where the 34-year-old is into the fourth week of his trial for the murder of nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel in Liverpool last year.

Olivia died after a gunman, who is said to have been chasing 36-year-old convicted drug dealer and burglar Joseph Nee, fired a bullet through the front door of her family home in Kingsheath Avenue, Dovecot, striking her in the chest.

Concluding his defence on Tuesday morning (March 28), Professor John Cooper, KC, told the jury 'there are others that wanted Joseph Nee dead'.
