Tottenham could be set to join the managerial merry-go-round if they are to sack maverick manager Antonio Conte - with axed Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann firmly in the pipeline following his dismissal from the Allianz Arena.Despite being just one point behind surprise leaders Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga table and having dismantled Paris Saint-Germain with ease in the Champions League knockout rounds ahead of a huge double-header against Manchester City, the young manager has been given the boot in one of the biggest surprise sackings in recent years. With Tottenham also floundering under hot-headed Antonio Conte - with the Italian having snapped at his players after surrendering a two-goal lead against Southampton last weekend - the north London club are reported to be looking at potential replacements for the former Chelsea boss, who despite having been in management for 17 years has only held a job down for a maximum of three years.
And Nagelsmann, according to Sky Sports, is top of their list. The German is likely to be formally announced as sacked on Friday evening, despite the young boss boasting the world record fee for a manager of £25million.
With Thomas Tuchel - former of Chelsea - set to replace him whilst the international break is underway. That would leave Nagelsmann as a free agent on the transfer market, and having had a decent record at Bayern by winning the league last season whilst falling short to Villarreal in the quarter-finals.Sky further report that Nagelsmann is someone that Spurs have looked at twice before when recruiting new bosses, which was likely to have been when Jose Mourinho and Nuno Espirito Santo were hired.
