Julia Butters is in talks to join the Freaky Friday sequel at Disney. While no other cast has been confirmed, sources say Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are in talks to reprise their roles from the original pic.
Late Night director Nisha Ganatra is on board to direct. Disney and reps for Butters could not be reached for comment. No word yet on the plot of the new film.
Jordan Weiss wrote the script, with the original’s Andrew Gunn to produce alongside Kristin Burr. Whether the film will be for theaters or streaming isn’t yet clear.
Released in 2003, Freaky Friday revolves around Tess Coleman (Curtis), a single mother and uptight psychiatrist, and her rebellious teenage daughter, Anna (Lohan).
