Julia Bradbury hoping she's 'still alive' in 10 years despite 'lifetime' diagnosis of cancer

Julia Bradbury has opened up. about her hopes for the future after being diagnosed with breast cancer last year. The presenter's documentary, Julia Bradbury: Breast Cancer and Me, was shown on ITV last night, following her as she prepared to undergo a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.

The mum-of-three allowed cameras to come into hospital with her and also let camera crews capture moving moments such as her being reunited with her children, writes the Mirror.Speaking about the effects her illness has had on her three kids, Zephyrus, Xanthe and Zena, Julia said: "There can't be a a parent in the world who doesn't worry about the impact of them being ill."You know, everybody's been a bit sad, there's been lots of tears and lots of emotions.

There is this rollercoaster that you go along and it would be impossible for them to not pick up on that," she continued."We're all going through this together and it's hard and it's hard to know as a parent if you're doing it right and if you're talking to them about cancer in the right way."Viewers saw Julia and her son meeting other families who have been living with cancer at the end of the hour-long film."This is never a lesson that you want to have to teach your children about.

That's not something any of us as parents want to do," Julia is heard saying."For everybody, it's very uncharted territory. How is this period of their lives going to affect them in five years' time and 10 years' time?
