Julia Bradbury has said that she hopes she's "still alive" in ten years during heartbreaking cancer documentary, Julia Bradbury: Breast Cancer and Me, which aired on ITV on Thursday night.The 51 year old Countryfile presenter was diagnosed with breast cancer last year after finding a lump in 2020 that turned out to be a cluster of benign micro-cysts, and a scan showed her to have a "high grade" 6cm tumour.
Julia bravely shared her journey in the new hour-long documentary, which showed her navigating her cancer, from undergoing a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery, to how her children are dealing with it.
Speaking about how her diagnosis has affected her children, Zephyr, 10, and twins Zena and Xanthe, seven, Julia said: "There can't be a a parent in the world who doesn't worry about the impact of them being ill.

"You know, everybody's been a bit sad, there's been lots of tears and lots of emotions.There is this rollercoaster that you go along and it would be impossible for them to not pick up on that," she continued. "We're all going through this together and it's hard and it's hard to know as a parent if you're doing it right and if you're talking to them about cancer in the right way.” As Julia and her son met other families who were affected by cancer, Julia said: "This is never a lesson that you want to have to teach your children about.That's not something any of us as parents want to do.
