Josie Gibson 'gutted and hurt' over This Morning presenting snub – she 'thought she'd be the new Holly Willoughby'

Josie Gibson is said to be 'gutted and hurt' over not landing a full-time role on This Morning, after Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley were announced as the show's new permanent presenters.

After former permanent anchors Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby both departed the show last year, a number of guest presenters have filled their spots on rotation, with I'm a Celeb star Josie being a regular fixture on the show.

But a TV insider told OK! how Josie had hoped she would 'become the new Holly,' leaving her upset over the producer's decision.The source added that Alison Hammond was also offered a full-time role instead of Josie, but opted to 'turn it down' as she 'doesn't want the responsibility'.

The source told us: "Alison was given the This Morning job to do it full time; she was actually the one who didn't want it. "Alison loves her time on the show but she doesn't want the responsibility of being the main anchor. "Alison likes to have multiple things going on and is already in huge demand elsewhere - with Love of Dogs and Bake Off - that takes up a lot of her time.
