Josh Rubin, a foreign policy official in the Obama and Biden administrations, is joining the Motion Picture Association as senior vice president of global strategy and chief of staff.
Rubin, who will be based at the MPA‘s global headquarters in Washington, D.C., will work with regional leaders on international government and industry engagement, and he will serve as a member of the MPA’s senior management team.
He starts on Feb. 28 and will report to chairman and CEO Charles Rivkin and Hunter Paletsas, executive vice president and global chief financial officer.
Rubin is taking on many of the responsibilities of Urmila Venugopalan, who was executive vice president of strategy and global operations, and was recently appointed president and managing director of the MPA’s Asia Pacific region.
