A wild theory touting Jordan Henderson with a move to Rangers has been ramped up by the bookmakers. The England international has struggled for regular game time at Ajax so far this season - with reports suggesting that the midfielder is eying a move back to Britain in the winter window.
The midfielder joined Steven Gerrard at Al Ettifaq for a fee of around £12million, but brought his time in the Saudi Pro League to an abrupt halt after just six months as the veteran looked to return to Europe.
The 34-year-old made the switch to Amsterdam, but has made just three league appearances all season for the Dutch giants. TalkSPORT report that Henderson is now exploring his options over a move back to the UK and Gambling.com have named Philippe Clement 's side as one of the leading candidates for a deal when the January window opens with the social media rumour mill already speculating over a deal.
Rangers are placed at 5/2 by the bookies - but the club would struggle to match Henderson's £85k-per-week salary should the Light Blues show an interest.
