Love Island star Maura Higgins has revealed she “didn’t want to be here anymore” after appearing on the hit ITV2 show in 2019.The TV star, 33, has opened up about her “dark thoughts,” explaining that rising to fame and into the public eye on the dating show was an incredibly difficult time in her life.

Speaking in an emotional chat on Married At First Sight expert Paul C. Brunson's We Need To Talk podcast today, the Irish star shared : “Life after Love Island was a very hard time in my life… I was just dropped to the UK.

It was like someone just picked me up, dropped me to the UK and I was in the public eye. I had nowhere to live. I had no friends, no family, nobody I could trust.” She added that she was living out of a suitcase in a hotel in London, because that’s where she needed to be for work commitments - but that she was too overworked, with no breaks, and was “faking a smile”.
