The 23-year-old US gymnast had placed third in the Women’s Floor Final and was awarded the bronze on the podium. If you didn’t know, Jordan scored 13.666 during her final, originally putting her in fifth place.
Romania’s Ana Barbosu scored 13.7, which made her believe she won bronze. Jordan‘s coach Cecile Landi made an inquiry regarding her difficulty rating, and officials raised Jordan‘s score to 13.766, placing her third.
After Ana was celebrating her medal, the Romanian team began protesting the decision and the Romanian Olympic Committee appealed that the inquiry was untimely and submitted too late.
