nypost.comApple TV+ with Hill, 37, starring as band leader Jerry Garcia, according to Deadline.Grateful Dead band members Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann will executive produce along with Garcia’s daughter, Trixie.
Due to the rock group’s heavy involvement, Apple will be able to use the band’s music in the film.The group’s origins go back to 1965 in San Francisco’s Bay Area.
After releasing their self-titled debut album in 1967, they became symbols of the counterculture movement and their fans have come to be known as “Deadheads” over the years.However, tragedy struck in 1995 when Garcia passed away at the age of 53 from a heart attack at a drug-treatment facility.
