Jonah Hill and Christopher Mintz-Plasse had an instant connection when casting for Superbad started up – but it wasn’t the kind of connection you’d probably expect. Seth Rogen, who co-wrote the 2007 movie, opened up about how when the casting process kicked off for the movie, the two actually hated each other. “Jonah immediately hated him.

He was like, ‘That was f***ing with my rhythm. I couldn’t perform with that guy,;” he recalled in an interview with Vanity Fair. Seth then added that the dynamic was actually what he and producer Judd Apatow were going for. Judd added that Christopher was “very caustic and attacked Jonah and did improvs insulting Jonah” during his third callback. “Jonah said, ‘I don’t like that guy.

I don’t want him doing it.’ And I said, ‘That’s exactly why we’re hiring him. It couldn’t be more perfect. The fact that it bothers you is exactly what we want,’” he shared.

Superbad was released 15 years ago. You can stream or purchase the movie on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon Instant Video, and Vudu.
