Both Lescott and fellow BT Sport pundit Owen Hargreaves lavished Foden with praise ahead of City's Champions League semi-final tie with PSG, with the young English attacker playing an instrumental part in his side's quarter-final victory over Borussia Dortmund.
Hargreaves praised the way Foden has been able to take Raheem Sterling's place in the team but stopped short of saying the 20-year-old is more important than De Bruyne.
