Five Just Stop Oil protestors were arrested last night after disrupting a performance of Les Miserables in London’s West End.
The performance was halted and then abruptly ended for the night after the protestors stormed the stage and called to the audience to “join the rebellion,” an ironic cry given the subject matter of the play they were interrupting.
The stage invasion happened during the performance of Do You Hear the People Sing?. In a post on X, Just Stop Oil said four people had locked themselves to the stage at the Sondheim Theatre.
The post added: “4 people are locked to the stage of the French-revolution-themed show. Valjean steals bread to feed a starving child.
