Johnny Depp has denied allegations he throttled and headbutted his ex-wife Amber Heard during a heated row in Los Angeles. The actor, 57, has taken to the stand at London's High Court for his third day giving testimony as part of his libel case against News Group Newspapers.

Depp is suing NGN over a story published in The Sun in 2018 which branded him a "wife beater" - a claim which he strenuously denies.

During today's testimony, Sasha Wass QC, for NGN asked Depp about a fiery argument he had with Heard at the Eastern Columbia Building in Los Angeles in December 2015.

Ms Wass told the court Depp "lost his temper" and threw a decanter at Heard, also slapping her, pulling her hair, headbutting her and telling her he was going to kill her.
