Manchester City defender John Stones said there was a sense of deflation inside the dressing room following their 1-1 draw with Premier League title rivals Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
In a contest that saw both sides throw everything at it in pursuit of maximum points, Liverpool recovered from a goal down to earn themselves a point, thanks to a second half penalty from Alexis Mac Allister.
The Argentine cancelled out Stones' first half opener after City goalkeeper Ederson conceded a penalty. The Brazilian clattered into Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez just three minutes into the second half, gift-wrapping the home side an opportunity to pull themselves level.
City had enjoyed the better of the play and the chances prior to the break, getting their noses in front after Stones turned in an excellent corner delivery from Kevin De Bruyne.
