Joey King is supporting a cause close to her heart. The 25-year-old actress participated in a live read of the classic movie It’s a Wonderful Life on Saturday (December 14) at the Garry Marshall Theatre in Burbank, Calif.

The event supported the Ed Asner Family Center, an organization whose mission is to foster acceptance and enrichment for those striving for wholeness in all aspects of life.

Through a diverse range of mental health services and innovative, interactive programs, the Center proudly employs autistic self-advocates as camp counselors, educators, and assistants. “I have family members who have autism.

People with autism are just so incredible, and this foundation just uplifts that,” Joey told Extra. Also participating in the live read were members of the SpongeBob SquarePants original cast, including Tom Kenny.
