Fleetwood manager Joey Barton has been savaged by former Manchester City and QPR team-mate Nedum Onuoha. Barton has been accused of vilifying team-mates, hating fans and sabotaging tactics he didn’t agree with while he was a player.
Onuoha, who recently ended his playing career at MLS side Salt Lake City, revealed to a QPR podcast his dislike for Barton, who he says he lost respect for as a teenager at City’s academy. “Lots of people love him, lots of people don’t like him at all, and I fall into the second camp,” he said.
But 33-year Onuoha did concede that Barton could have what it takes to succeed as a manager. “He had great ideas about how the game should be played so now, as the coach, he can make it happen.
