Jo Whiley shares sister Frances’ ‘huge thank you’ to NHS staff after Covid hospital battle

BBC Radio 2’s Jo Whiley has revealed that her sister Frances is out of hospital after being admitted with Covid-19 following an outbreak in her care home.

The presenter has shared a video of her sister, who has learning disabilities and diabetes, drinking a cup of tea and giving a thumbs up from her favourite bench.

The video came after the broadcaster said it had been “the worst week” of her family’s life after her sister, Frances, 53,  had become very ill since testing positive following an outbreak at her care home in Northamptonshire.

Whiley has previously said people with learning disabilities are often neglected by society and questioned why she was offered the vaccine before her sister, who has the rare Cri du Chat genetic syndrome..
