Jim Goodwin admits the international break couldn’t have come at a much worse time for his Buddies. But he’s delighted St Mirren at least went into it on the back of two morale-boosting victories against Aberdeen and Livingston.
The Saints are currently on a five-game unbeaten run, which was signed off with a battling 1-0 win against the Lions last Saturday.
And, while Goodwin would have loved to have not seen that streak interrupted by World Cup qualifiers this weekend, he’s hoping his squad will come back re-energised and ready to pick up where they left off when they make the long trip to Dingwall next Saturday to take on Ross County.
