Jermaine Jenas has made a grovelling public apology to his wife, Ellie Penfold, following his sexting scandal. It comes as Ellie launched her new business and the former Tottenham Hotspur and England midfielder, 41, took to Instagram to congratulate her.
Jermaine, who was a fixture on The One Show and a Match of the Day analyst, was dismissed from the BBC in August following accusations that he sent unsolicited inappropriate messages to a female staff member.
A spokesperson said at the time: "We can confirm that he is no longer part of our presenting line up." Despite the sexting scandal, the couple remain together, and at the weekend, Jermaine publicly supported her as she launched her new business, Preppy Skin - a skincare brand aimed for those under 16.
The pair have been married for 13 years and are parents to two daughters and a son. In the Instagram post, he praised his wife for launching her business despite the "bullsh** he dragged her through." Alongside photos from the brand's launch, he wrote: "Couldn’t be more proud of this woman, 3 years ago you had a great idea and this week you got to make that idea a reality. "Starting a brand is hard enough, but working hard and being committed to getting it done even with all the BULLS**T I’ve dragged you through recently should be enough evidence that you’ll make it a success.
