Jeremy Clarkson returning to motoring show after announcing retirement

Jeremy Clarkson is making a return to the TV motoring scene with a special appearance on Car SOS. The former Top Gear host, 64, had stepped back from the genre following the conclusion of The Grand Tour in September 2024, which he co-hosted with longtime friends James May and Richard Hammond.While away from the spotlight, Clarkson has been busy managing his Diddly Squat farm, the focus of the Amazon series Clarkson’s Farm, as well as overseeing his brewery company, Hawkstone, and the newly opened The Farmer’s Dog pub in Oxfordshire.In the upcoming episode of Car SOS, Clarkson will join hosts Tim Shaw and Fuzz Townshend to help repair and restore an old Land Rover Discovery Series 1.

This special episode is set to air in March.Tim Shaw recently spoke to The Daily Star about Jeremy Clarkson's involvement in a special episode of Car SOS, recalling the moment when Clarkson welcomed a full coachload of crew members to his property.

Shaw remarked, “Jeremy was happy for us to bring a full coach load of people. I mean, think about it – 60 strangers turning up at your property!”He continued, “We spent about half an hour with Jeremy, and he was warm, friendly, and, of course, typically sarcastic and funny.

He genuinely cared about the wellbeing of both the team and, most importantly, the car's owner.”Clarkson's appearance on Car SOS comes after he departed from The Grand Tour following its finale in September, where he, May, and Hammond took a nostalgic journey in cars they had always dreamed of owning.Co-presenter James May recently explained the reasoning behind the conclusion of their long-running partnership, stating that it was time to make way for a new generation.
