The hunt for the anthrax killer in the early 2000s is the subject of a new podcast. Dick Wolf’s Wolf Entertainment, USG Audio, the podcast division of Universal Studio Group, and Jeremiah Crowell’s Dig Studios are making Aftermath: Hunt for the Anthrax Killer for Canada’s CBC.
The series, which will launch on April 2, is hosted by Crowell, a documentary filmmaker who has directed series such as Max’s Generation Hustle and was showrunner of HBO’s The Anarchists.
Aftermath: Hunt for the Anthrax Killer will tell the inside story of the high-stakes hunt for the anthrax killer, one of the largest and most confounding FBI investigations in history, in the aftermath of the deadly bioterror attack that gripped America in the early 2000s.
Per the logline, in the wake of 9/11, anthrax-laced letters unleashed a new wave of terror across the nation. But who was behind the attacks—and why has America nearly forgotten this story?
