Val Kilmer, the Hollywood star known for his iconic roles in Top Gun, Batman Forever, and The Doors, was one of the highest-paid actors in the 90s.
However, before he found fame, a family tragedy struck that would haunt him for years to come and later inspire one of his acting roles.
Sadly, Kilmer passed away at the age of 65 from pneumonia at his Los Angeles home on Tuesday, April 1, as confirmed by his daughter.
Previously, the actor had battled throat cancer following a diagnosis in 2014, a health struggle that left him unable to speak and largely out of the public eye for several years until he made a recovery.
