Javier Bardem is set to star in “The Beloved,” a Spanish-language family drama from multiple Goya Award-winning writer-director Rodrigo Sorogoyen (“The Realm,” “The Beasts”).
The film — also starring Victoria Luengo (“The Room Next Door”) — is a drama about an estranged father-daughter. Jardem plays a temperamental film director who is forced to work with his daughter, an aspiring actress, on a project.
They must confront their painful past while navigating the power dynamics of their professional relationship. Sorogoyen wrote the screenplay.
The film is being produced by Sorogoyen’s Madrid production label Caballo Films, with Movistar Plus+ and Le Pacte co-producing.
