Jason Moore Set To Direct ‘Legally Blonde’ Prequel Series ‘Elle’
deadline.comPitch Perfect director Jason Moore has been tapped to helm the upcoming Legally Blonde prequel series Elle. Moore will direct the first two episodes of the show from Amazon MGM Studios and Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine.
Created by Laura Kittrell (High School, Insecure) and Caroline Dries (Batwoman, Vampire Diaries), Elle follows Elle Woods, played by Lexi Minetree, in high school as we learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman we came to know and love in the first Legally Blonde film.
Kittrell and Dries will both serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, and Marc Platt will also serve as executive producers.
Elle is produced by Hello Sunshine and Amazon MGM Studios. Moore’s feature directorial debut, Pitch Perfect starring Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow, was a critical and commercial success; he served as executive producer on both of the sequels.
